cacti forest
originals: watercolour on 300gsm cold-pressed watercolour paper 23x31cm
prints: printed on 250gsm art paper
mural: gouache on glass
This set of watercolour paintings feature cacti forests, one in blue and the other in green.
The original paintings were later used as inspiration for a window mural that I did for an event at Cafe Zarah, "Art for Nature". This was my first year participating in this event which celebrated and raised awareness about environmental sustainability. Stickers and prints were also created and sold at the event.

"Art for Nature" mural
gouache paint on glass
"Art for Nature" is an annual event at Cafe Zarah in Beijing, China, that attempts to raise awareness about environmental protection and a sustainable lifestyle. The event invites local vendors, local and international social enterprises, artisans and artists for a day-long celebration.
This was my second year painting a window mural for this event. I collaborated with fellow artist Shuilam Wong of Hole in the Wall Collective to work on an ocean-themed mural on the large, floor-to-ceiling front window of the cafe. The digital drawings below show the concept sketches used during the planning stage of the mural.
